Fall is coming up around the corner and what better way to get inspired than to check out one of our favorites from last year, Benjamin and Olivia. Recently, this wedding was featured in the Sacramento magazine Real Weddings, and we couldn’t have been more happy! We met Ben and Olivia at a bridal show at the Grand Island Mansion (they stopped in to check out our Day of the Dead themed table…complete with a bright teal cake and skeleton bride and groom topper from Mexico). We instantly clicked with them and all of their unconventional wedding inspirations. We knew that they loved branches and mosses and had a crush on New Orleans style! They ended up booking the Courtyard De Oro in Old Sacremento (what a great makeshift New Orleans vibe it gave off). Anyways, I will stop blabbering and let the photos speak for themselves. All the wonderful photos were taken by Briggs Photography.
Yolanda. What a ray of sunshine! We met her quite some time before her actual wedding date, but each time was always a pleasure. She really wanted bright colors, shades of happy yellows, hot pinks, fresh greens and champagnes. Looking at all the swatches we had on our clipboard that week at market, we were a tad overwhelmed. Nervous that choosing too many shades may look a bit much we took our purchases rather seriously.
We ended up finding the best flowers for their wedding! Green hydrangeas that were lightly kissed with bright pinks and orchids with matching pink centers. Overall, we were very happy with what was available for us and super excited with the way things turned out. Thanks again David and Yolanda for letting us help create your special day.
This past weekend we did a sixtieth wedding anniversary. We wanted to celebrate their heritage, so we chose to go with a Mexican fiesta theme. We’ve always wanted to do something like this, so it was the perfect chance for us to get in there and do it! Carnations in reds, pinks, oranges, fuchsias, and cinnamon shades gave this event a very warm and inviting feel. A collection of painted terra-cotta and bold colored glass votives set the tone for the evening.
Showcasing the family was very important to our client, so we decided to pin decades of photos to the outside of our birdcage for display. This birdcage was one of our favorites, inside was a stone Virgin Mary on top of a mound of colorful flowers. Outside we placed some candles and fresh produce. Overall, the feel of this event was so fun to work with and a pleasant look for guests to enjoy!
Hope you all enjoy. Leave us comments and let us know what you think.
Usually we put photos from an entire event up on our blog. But this week, we wanted to try something different. A few weeks ago we were sending some bouquet shots to a blog and we took a look at the email after it was sent. What we saw was so fun…all the different looks and feels that we have created over the past months. Whatever your style may be, whatever flowers you fancy, even whatever fits in your budget, we strive to make each look your own. Our ultimate goal is to have our bides look at whatever we create and say, “That is so me!” Take a peek at some of our favorites and pin your top picks to pinterest.
