Amanda and Peter say I do at The Grand Island Mansion

image
Our vintage silver collection was perfect for this look here! Chocolate lace and soft pink roses and a fluffy peony, coupled with the delicate fresh vine gives the right amount of pop on this crisp white cloth.

We are SO excited to have received these amazing teasers from Kara Stewart Photography! Amanda was such a joy to work with, super easy going and with fabulous taste we might add! She decided to go with soft neutrals to help create a soft romantic feel for her and groom Peter’s big day. Being at the Grand Island Mansion is always a pleasure, it’s like our second home there, and we love all of their delightful staff. Here at Jackie’s we feel that joining your overall feel and the style of your venue is vital to having a seamless ambiance. Romantic and the mansion go beautifully hand in hand here!

Looking forward to share more photos of this lovely day in the near future, for now, enjoy the scroll!

The Bride’s bouquet was an absolute stunner! A mix of soft fluffy blooms in what we like to call “yummy” shades. We also added some more interesting blooms like this chocolate lace and scabiosa pods to toughen it up just a touch.

This gazebo was one of our favorites! Lush full garlands of Salal and Plumosa draped amongst lush clusters of white Hydrangeas and Voluminous Roses! Not to mention the antique chandelier!! And if you have a really keen eye, you may find the Phalanopsis Orchid plants and Curly Willow peeking out from the stone garden urns.

Southwestern Table at Pottery Barn

DSC_0917

Hi guys!

We were lucky enough to participate in the bridal event held at our local Pottery Barn in Roseville. They gave us two tables to decorate and we had such a blast getting creative! The first table in the front of the store was more of an eastery styled look with soft pastel shades and vintage egg cups.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get out there to take photos of it, but our dear friend Amanada did! Check out her blog at www.photographybyamandarose.com.

Here are some of the shots that I took at the event, hope you guys get inspired! Bridal doesn’t have to be girly or “bridal” to be totally awesome… we LOVE this look and can completely visualize it on a ranch complete with campfire s’mores and maybe even a sprinkling of lightning bugs!

We chose to use the Ridge flatware to enhance the rustic elements in our design. Wooden chargers and leather stamped napkin rings were used at each place setting.

Crystal geodes are so in right now, so we decided they would add a nice shine to our tabletop. Subtle hints of Eucalyptus and Thistle balance out the warm tones with a cool touch of rustic!

Old Man’s walking stick was the perfect choice for our gnarly chandelier. We braided together bits of twine in a macrame-type style to hang more geodes from to create a kind of whimsy to keep things from getting too masculine.

Bridal Show Prettiness

DSC_1027

This past Sunday was the bridal fair at the Grand Island Mansion. This being our home away from home, we absolutely took part! We wanted to do something a little more playful this time around. Normally, at a bridal fair you would opt for something very… well… bridal!

Using the most awesome vintage yellow chairs, we decided on a bold striped linen from our favorite ladies at La Tavola Fine Linen. They are located in downtown Sacramento and have the most amazing selection of gorgeous prints and patterns. Solids, sequins, napkins, and even seat cushions, you name it they’ve got it! We took the lemon yellow chairs and bold black and white and paired it with this seasons hottest color! Pantone is calling it Radiant Orchid. Here is our take on the new look, hope you enjoy it!

Colleen & Jeff Nettleton

DSC_1008

Hi guys!

We are so excited about this next couple, Colleen and Jeff were friends of ours over this past year. We met Colleen through a mutual friend, as she is a STUNNING photographer! We met last December to do some styled shoots with her and wow, what a blast of a person she is! Jeff is the sweetest guy and we just loved meeting with them to talk flowers. Colleen and Jeff love the woods and huge pine trees, we incorporated lots of Douglas Fir into their arrangements, as well as rosemary and a plethora of other interesting greens. Colleen’s taste in decor was very simplistic and clean, not too fussy. We were so giddy collecting our favorite foliages at market that week! Here are some of the photos we snapped on her big day… I’m so sad I didn’t get more of her reception (we were also guests), but her amazing photographer, Bret Cole will I’m sure more than deliver in that department!

Enjoy!

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever met more adorable or well behaved flower girls and ring boys! They were so sweet and were so eager to wear their little olive crowns! Total dolls.

Harvest Season here we come!

Hi Lovies!

Okay so this past weekend we were lucky enough to squeeze in some time for a super fun harvest-inspired shoot. We got to work with Amy at Amy Atkins photography on this special photo shoot. The couple we shot was already married (12 years) and had two adorable girls together. They were married quite young and did not get to have a super fancy wedding so this was somewhat of a re-do for them.

The bride was the sweetest and was just oozing with excitement and love for all the prettiness. Turns out the photographer set up a surprise visit from their pastor so they could renew their wedding vows! It was adorable. So they did just that… renewed their vows at sunset in front of a Jasmine-covered arbor and hanging clusters of Pomegranates. It was a good day!

Karey & Kirk at the Grand Island Mansion

DSC_0882

Hi Guys!

Hope everyone is alive after that crazy heat wave we just had. I know we had quite the time delivering weddings in the scorching sun! Thank god for ice packs and TONS of spray bottle action!!

Karey and Kirk were one of the lucky coulpes to say their I dos during the triple digit heat and we couldn’t be more excited to show off some new looks. The couple’s colors were dark purple and grey and they LOVED succulents! We incorporated lots of moss, curly willow, berries, and fern with pops of purple hues and sprinklings of other accents colors.

Here are some of the fun pieces from their special day, and we hope these tide you over until the professional photographers come in!

Enjoy

We had to put the little gnome in these centerpieces for a fun picture… we kept joking all week that we created a tiny fern village!

The Flower Girl’s moss basket was so much fun to create! It was a first for us to design and went over so well with guests and bridal party alike.

Karey and Kirk used all three of the indoor rooms at the Mansion, so these smaller pieces were used in the creme room for smaller more intimate tables.

The Bride’s bouquet was hand wrapped with vintage lace from her mother and Kirk’s mother’s wedding dress! What a cool idea. One of the scrap pieces we received from them was a part of a sleeve…somehow we made the buttons align and run down the back of her bouquet…STUNNING!

Dahlias, tiny purple Orchids, Scabiosa, Polo Roses, Succulents, Seeded Eucalyptus and purple Anemones were all used in the Bride’s bouquet. Lovely.

Wedding season kick-off at The Grand Island Mansion!

DSC_0450

This last weekend was the kick-off of our wedding season!  Where else would we start it than at our home base… The Grand Island Mansion! Eurika had been planning her dream wedding for quite some time. We had been back and forth over lots of little details, vintage rentals, milk glass, what colors and types of flowers she enjoyed.

We finally decided on assortments of tall and small milk glass vessels. She rented gold mirror trays to place some assortments on to give it a more textured look. Coral, the color of the season, was in full effect and with Spring in almost full swing, there were also so many ranunculus and poppies to play with!

We did do one thing for this event that was a little different (and we loved it)!! In the Gazebo area, we decided to string soft soft peach carnations on strands of crystals. This looked amazing in the sunlight!

Here are some snapshots of her event, we hope you enjoy them.

We really do believe that ALL of the little touches make a HUGE difference! There are so many cool tools out there for brides to get their paws on when it comes to paper goods. These little menus made such a difference on the tables and added more color and totally enhanced the overall decor!

Creating a very seamless look is easy to do. The table numbers were printed on newspaper, newspaper was also used on the sign in table where the gift cards were to be placed. This adds interest without being too overwhelming or distracting.

DSC_0494
We loved these mixed spring bouquets for the guest tables! Lace was wrapped around some of the glass to add to her look, lace was also incorporated into the favors and votives.

Flowers should make a statement no matter what size they are… I’d say these ones did their job! Thanks to the amazing San Francisco flower mart and all their wonderful vendors for such great quality goods.
