Amanda and Peter say I do at The Grand Island Mansion

image
Our vintage silver collection was perfect for this look here! Chocolate lace and soft pink roses and a fluffy peony, coupled with the delicate fresh vine gives the right amount of pop on this crisp white cloth.

We are SO excited to have received these amazing teasers from Kara Stewart Photography! Amanda was such a joy to work with, super easy going and with fabulous taste we might add! She decided to go with soft neutrals to help create a soft romantic feel for her and groom Peter’s big day. Being at the Grand Island Mansion is always a pleasure, it’s like our second home there, and we love all of their delightful staff. Here at Jackie’s we feel that joining your overall feel and the style of your venue is vital to having a seamless ambiance. Romantic and the mansion go beautifully hand in hand here!

Looking forward to share more photos of this lovely day in the near future, for now, enjoy the scroll!

The Bride’s bouquet was an absolute stunner! A mix of soft fluffy blooms in what we like to call “yummy” shades. We also added some more interesting blooms like this chocolate lace and scabiosa pods to toughen it up just a touch.

This gazebo was one of our favorites! Lush full garlands of Salal and Plumosa draped amongst lush clusters of white Hydrangeas and Voluminous Roses! Not to mention the antique chandelier!! And if you have a really keen eye, you may find the Phalanopsis Orchid plants and Curly Willow peeking out from the stone garden urns.

Bridal Show Prettiness

DSC_1027

This past Sunday was the bridal fair at the Grand Island Mansion. This being our home away from home, we absolutely took part! We wanted to do something a little more playful this time around. Normally, at a bridal fair you would opt for something very… well… bridal!

Using the most awesome vintage yellow chairs, we decided on a bold striped linen from our favorite ladies at La Tavola Fine Linen. They are located in downtown Sacramento and have the most amazing selection of gorgeous prints and patterns. Solids, sequins, napkins, and even seat cushions, you name it they’ve got it! We took the lemon yellow chairs and bold black and white and paired it with this seasons hottest color! Pantone is calling it Radiant Orchid. Here is our take on the new look, hope you enjoy it!

Taylor & Joseph

DSC_1051

Hi Guys!

This past weekend we got to do one of our favorite couples weddings!! Taylor and Joseph got married in the evening time at the Grand Island Mansion. We have done plenty of evening weddings at the mansion, however, they are normally in the summer when it is still light outside during the ceremony. Taking the time of year into consideration, we suggested uplighting on the ceremony site area. The couple also chose to get married on the column side of the mansion, not the typical garden side. This side, if you have ever been to the mansion you know that this side is far more dramatic and grandiose. It looked absolutely amazing!

Taylor and Joseph also wanted to embrace the time of year, they chose rich jewel tones for their florals to go with the bridesmaids’ dresses (they were all different rich shades of eggplant, mango, poppy red, and a more truer purple). They also had a bevy of pumpkins lining the aisle to add to the seasonal charm!

Here are some of the photos I snapped, I hope you enjoy them and can be inspired for your big day.

These Alhambra roses were exquisite! The bright poppy hue was to die for and even the leaves were so perfect, the most dark espresso shade. Awesome variegated carnations and bouncy little bits of clover make an awesome combination. Taylor wanted to incorporate vintage broaches into each bouquet as well. This adds a touch of shine and a sentimental keepsake.

Regal Reds at The Grand Island Mansion

Tomi and Zach tied the knot this past weekend at The Grand Island Mansion. We were a little worried about the weather with it being August, but it was actually so nice outside. We did have to deal with the Delta breeze… that was a little more aggressive than breezy. But the wedding went on without a hitch and everything was gorgeous!

It was our first time decorating the column side of the garden this elaborately, so we had been making plans for months prior on how to re-create the infamous pinterest image of the flowy gobs of fabric and drippy chandelier! We created a sturdy structure to attach the organza to and figured a way to attach our antique chandelier without being nervous.

Here are some of the images I snapped at our event, I really hope they can inspire you to create your own look for your wedding day.

We were so proud of the finished look here. This ceremony set up was a first for us and we take the construction process very seriously, the last thing you want is a makeshift hook breaking… no chandeliers falling on anyone. This look was constructed as thoughtfully as it was designed. That is a great feeling!

Karey & Kirk at the Grand Island Mansion

DSC_0882

Hi Guys!

Hope everyone is alive after that crazy heat wave we just had. I know we had quite the time delivering weddings in the scorching sun! Thank god for ice packs and TONS of spray bottle action!!

Karey and Kirk were one of the lucky coulpes to say their I dos during the triple digit heat and we couldn’t be more excited to show off some new looks. The couple’s colors were dark purple and grey and they LOVED succulents! We incorporated lots of moss, curly willow, berries, and fern with pops of purple hues and sprinklings of other accents colors.

Here are some of the fun pieces from their special day, and we hope these tide you over until the professional photographers come in!

Enjoy

Angel and Ian at Grand Island Mansion

DSC_0453

Hi All!

Okay, so another crazy weekend has gone by and another blog is up for sharing and hopefully some ooing and ahhing:) Angel and Ian actually got married almost a month ago now (phewww that was a fast month!)

Angel wanted to go for a super feminine look with ruffly pinks and creamy whites. We had a ton of peonies and soft pink garden roses in the kitchen of the flower shop for this wedding… it was so stinkin’ pretty!

Here are some of the photos of what we did, hope you all enjoy them!

Hi All!

Frist off, we would like to wish everyone a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!

Also, we wanted to share this adorable wedding with you all… sadly we did not take any photos of the best part… the collection of tea cup center pieces!! However, we will for sure share the professional photos when we get them.

Diamond became such a dear friend of ours through the process. She had such a fun eye and brought in oodles and oodles of cutsie inspirations. She died over anything china, pink, soft shades, lace, pearls… it was all her! One of the last weddings during the craziest weekend thus far in the season, it went off without a hitch and all was well in wedding world. We were so graciously invited to stay for dinner and were so obliged to sit and enjoy a meal together. Here are some photos of her day that we did capture… hope you all enjoy!

Best,

Chelsie

Randi and Parker’s wedding at The Grand Island Mansion

DSC_0517

We met Randi a while ago, she was such a joy to have around the flower shop and we instantly bonded with her! We shared the same loves of eclectic style and collecting vintage vessels. She knew from the get go that she wanted red as her main color. We later added more textures and pops of fuchsia and oranges for accents. She also provided us with a HUGE collection of ruby red vessels to use for centerpieces (we thought we liked to collect)! Here are some of the shots we got on her big day, hope you all enjoy!

For all of the newly engaged that we met or did not yet meet, we hope to get to work with you and can’t wait to get our spring swing on:)
